Cronulla Sharks prop Andrew Fifita played on with a badly broken arm in his side’s 16-12 defeat to the Warriors.
Fifita will miss the rest of the NRL campaign after breaking both bones in his left arm at Mt Smart Stadium.
The 25-year-old tweeted after the Round 22 defeat: “Devastated I snapped both bones in my arm. Can’t wait till 2015. But still the boys have a job to do first.”
Fifita, who played six times for Australia last year, had already missed parts of the season with an ankle injury and a wrist problem. He battled on after breaking his arm, until he suffered a badly twisted ankle late in the game.
The Sharks, who are 6.00 to beat the Storm, have been badly hit by injuries, with 10 senior players being sidelined for the Warriors game. Skipper Paul Gallen joined the list when he was forced to withdraw before the game with a severe flu virus.

Cronulla fell behind in the seventh minute when Ngani Laumape scored the first of his two first-half tries.
Tinirau Arona went over to bring them level soon after, but Laumape then grabbed his second try and Manu Vatuvei added another six minutes later.
The Sharks gave themselves a chance when Sosaia Feki scored their second try just before the hour mark, with Michael Gordon again adding the extras, but they fluffed a late try opportunity and left empty-handed.
Coach James Shepherd felt they deserved better for their efforts. He said: “Blokes were really working hard for each other out there and to keep the Warriors scoreless in the second half, it was a magnificent defensive display.”
Cronulla are 1.91 against Melbourne with a 16.5-points start.
