The Rabbitohs remain the best backed side to win the NRL Grand Final with TAB despite money finally starting to come for Penrith.
After holding 65 percent of support in the Head-to-Head market, Souths are now back to 54 percent compared to Penrith’s 46 percent.
The two teams started the season as joint $5.50 Premiership favourites with TAB. Penrith quickly assumed outright favouritism until being usurped by the Storm following a rocky State of Origin period and injury to Nathan Cleary. They were the best backed side to win the title up until last weekend and are now $1.70 favourites to lift the trophy after opening at $1.60 for the decider. (see attached graph for use)
South Sydney were the third favourites and third best supported side for the bulk of the season before Latrell Mitchell’s suspension saw their odds blow out to $10 before the finals. They’re now $2.20 outsiders for the Grand Final having opened at $2.40.

- Cody Walker ($7.50) is now the outright best backed to win the Clive Churchill medal with 22 percent of the market, from favourite Nathan Cleary ($3.50) and Cameron Murray ($10).
- Brian To’o ($8) and Alex Johnston ($9) have attracted the most attention in the First Try Scorer market with 15 percent each, while Walker has 11 percent of the hold and has tightened from $19 in to $17.
- A Souths victory by 13+ is the most popular choice in the Margin betting with 26 percent, narrowly ahead of Souths by 1-12 with 25 percent.
- Big Bets for Penrith over the past 24 hours include $7,000 H2H @ $1.67, $5,500 H2H @ $1.67 and $4,000 H2H @ $1.67
