Melbourne fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen has been crowned the 2020 Clive Churchill Medallist as the grand final’s player of the match.
Papenhuyzen scored a scintillating second-half try from inside his own quarter, ran for a game-high 187 metres and made two tackle breaks in the Storm’s thrilling 26-20 victory over Penrith on Sunday night.
The 22-year-old will almost certainly be rewarded with selection in coach Brad Fittler’s NSW State of Origin squad.
